| Description | Parker Wagnild announces plans for the creation of a music department in the fall of 1946. The department was authorized by the board of trustees the previous year. The courses that will be offered are, elementary harmony, music dictation, and possibly sight singing and choral conducting. Dr. Shaffer will continue to teach and assist Wagnild and Mr. Charles Rogers will revive the band and orchestra that were disbanded for the war. The Women's League will be starting a drive to raise 50,00 0 dollars for the possible construction of a building with practice rooms, pianos, and a recital hall. |
